Bird Watching

The entire region reflects a wide range of landscapes and climates with habitats ranging from low, dry hills, ravines sheltering dense sub-tropical forest, temperature hill forest and sub-alpine mountains. Reason why, it houses some of the most elusive, beautiful birds in the state. Right from the rare Snow Patridge, Himalayan Monal, Western Tragopan, Himalayan Snowcock, variety of Rosefinches to the spectacular birds of prey – Golden Eagle, Cinerous Vulture, Lammergeir. Then there’s the Blue-capped Redstart, Laughingthrush, Snow Pigeon, Common Raven, Crested Kingfisher, Grey-winged Blackbird, Himalayan Griffon Vulture, Eurasian Griffon, Egyptian Vulture, White-Rumped Vulture, the famous Asian Paradise Flycatcher, and Peregrine Falcon – the world’s fastest bird but also the world’s fastest animal. A variety of Buzzards, Kites, Robins, Woodpeckers, Swifts, Owls, Parakeets, Cuckoos, and more.

We don’t mean to boast, but it’s true that some of these birds can be seen right from our gardens.
